Memorial Day Weekend

100_4145
Another successful memorial day weekend has come and gone.

The kickoff to summer went by without too many issues;
  • We were able to finish putting everything in the water first thing Saturday morning, and I think most of my body parts have adjusted to not being submersed in frigid water. Now if you don't think water at 65.1 F is cold, then you haven't had the pleasure of putting in a dock. (You missed the fun Jason)
  • Bill donated an hour and half of his life, and feeling in his lower waist, to break in the new waverunner so we could all enjoy it for the weekend.
  • We all shot the round of life on Saturday and finished 9 holes in 40 mins!
  • We all realized that our frequently visited gold course changed it's hours for this year and now opens at 8 am instead of 7 am. So after arriving promptly at 7 am on Saturday to beat the locals....and then waiting 20 mins....then driving to drop off the recyclables to kill time....then driving back to wait another 20 mins......and finally giving up at 7:40. We decided to try again the next day
  • We all played about average on Sunday...a couple of us donating more balls to corn fields. (I guess I should have stuck with our first Saturday story.)
  • Sara finished her book in less than 24 hours.
  • We had enough desserts in the house to feed the entire lake.
  • No tools were tossed during any of the Bill Taylor projects.
  • And we are able to visit with some family members on Sara's dad's side.
With everything ready to go, it should be another successful summer. As I leave you with a rare picture of Rosemary outside of the house (and out on the water for that matter) there is one safety tip to remember;

No matter how hard you push, how much gas you give it, or how how deep you flood your truck in the water, a waverunner will never leave the trailer until you take the tow straps off.

I can personally vouch that Eric's safety comment is VERY true....
